Allen Defeats Oklahoma Wesleyan

The Allen Men's Basketball team picked up their 15th win of the season with a 86-61 win over Oklahoma Wesleyan University JV. The Red Devils never trailed in the contest and jumped out to a quick 7-0 lead in the first minutes of the game. Allen would quickly push the lead up to 19 points, but Oklahoma Wesleyan would connect on several 3 pointers to close down the gap. Wesleyan got with 7 points with 7 minutes remaining in the half. From there Allen would go on a big run to close out the first half and lead 50-33 at the break.

In the second half the Allen defense did a better job as they held Wesleyan to only 28 points in the second half. Allen would struggle a bit on the offensive end as well, but the Red Devils were never seriously threated for the remainder of the game. Allen cruised to a 86-61 win. All of the Red Devils suited up saw action in the game. Joel Boyce led all scorers with 19 points on 7-14 from the floor, and Boyce also grabbed 9 rebounds. Brandon Gray had a nice offensive game with 14 points on 5 of 8 shooting. Shaikim Jenks and Jalen Sasser each scored 13 points, and Malik Hardmon chipped in 10 points and grabbed 6 rebounds.

Allen is now 15-9 on the season, and will start the second cycle against the Jayhawk East this Saturday with a home matchup against Butler County at 4:00 PM.
