Allen Men Win 2nd Straight Home Game

The Allen Men won their second straight home conference matchup, defeating Cloud County 80-64 on Wednesday evening. This was a big matchup for both teams, as they entered the contest tied in the Jayhawk Conference standings. The Red Devils trailed in the first few minutes, but after a couple of made 3's from Tyler Williams Allen would take the lead for good. Allen was very efficient from the floor in the first half of play, shooting almost 47% from the floor. The Red Devils went on a big run late in the first half, and led by 22 at the halftime break (47-25).

In the second half Cloud never seriously cut into Allen's lead, as the Red Devils were able to keep the lead around 20 points for most of the second half. A huge factor in the victory was the rebounding. Allen was able to out-rebound Cloud by 6 rebounds on the night. The Red Devils were led in scoring by Jacob Patterson and Tyler Williams. Patterson recorded a big double-double on the night with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Patterson was able to dominate the paint for the Red Devils. Tyler Williams also scored 18 points, and connected on 3 of 5 from beyond the 3 point line. Jamaal Clifton also reached double figures scoring with 15 points and also grabbed 5 rebounds.

With the win Allen improves to 6-10 on the season and 4-7 in Jayhawk Conference play. Next, Allen will hit the road to take on Pratt  Saturday afternoon at 4:00 PM.
