Allen Men Win 1st Game After Break

The Allen Men's Basketball team started off 2018 with a win over Dodge City 93-82. The Red Devils got off to a slow start, and Dodge City sustained an early lead. After a quick timeout by coach Shaw, Allen slowly chipped away at the Dodge City lead. Just under halfway through the first half the Red Devils were able to take the lead, and would never give that lead back up. Allen took a 38-31 lead into the halftime break.

Midway through the second half it appeared like Allen was going to run away with the game leading by as many as 13 after a mini run, but Dodge City kept fighting for the full 40 minutes to keep things interesting late. The Red Devils had some late turnover and missed free-throws that contributed to Dodge City keeping it close until end.

Jordan Marshall led all scorers with 25 points and 11 rebounds. Tyler Williams scored 24 points on 7/9 shooting and went 9 of 9 from the free-throw line. The win over Dodge City moves the Red Devil to 5-9 on the season and 3-7 in Jayhawk Conference play. Next Allen will travel to Hutchinson to take on the #6 ranked Blue Dragons on Saturday evening.
