The Allen Men's Basketball Team lost on the road against the #2 in the nation Wednesday night by the score of 82-62. The final score does not indicate how close the game really was for most of the night. In the early going both teams shot well from the floor. Midway through the first half Hutch made a run and pushed the lead up to double digits. The Red Devils did not back down and chipped away at the lead after switching to a zone defense. Allen cut the deficit to 7 at the halftime break (35-28). 

Early in the second half Allen stayed in the game and found themselves just down 3 with about 10 minutes to go. Hutch finished the game on a big run to push the lead up and didn't allow the Red Devils to comeback. 

Allen struggled shooting the ball from beyond the arc, only making 3 of their 15 attempts. Allen also only got to the free throw line 5 times the entire game, while Hutch shot 25 free throws for the game. 

DaRon Mims led the way in scoring and rebounding for Allen with 17 points and 12 rebounds, earning him a double-double. EJ Garnes was the only other Red Devil with double figures with 13 points. 

Allen is now 13-15 on the season and 10-14 in Jayhawk Conference play. Allen returns home for sophomore night on Saturday at 4:00 PM vs Cloud.
