Allen Women Defeat Central

The Lady Red Devils took on Central Community College this past Saturday at home and started the match with a lot of energy, controlling the game for the first half. Nearly scoring two goals within the first minute the Red Devils looked for the early lead. Despite having multiple chances at goal, the score stayed at 0-0 to end the half. 

The Red Devils had a rocky start to the second half, giving a goal up in the 47th minute. Where normally teams would panic, the Red Devils kept their composure and controlled the game for the rest of the half by obtaining majority of possession and having double the number of opportunities at goal. In the 56th minute a cross from Autumn Wyatt was sent into the 18-yard box and slotted into the back of the net by Rebecca Lord. With the game tied 1-1 both teams battled to get that deciding goal. The Red Devils continued to connect passed and control the rhythm of the game. In the 80th minute the Red Devils were awarded a corner, taken by Kate Giblin, and was put in the back of the net by Sofie Poulsen to get her first goal of the season. 

The Lady Red Devils were victorious and ended the match with a 2-1 win. The Red Devils ended the game with 16 shots on goal compared to Central's 6 and Daniela Gonzalez ended the game with 5 big saves.

The Red Devils next travel to Pratt Kansas for their match on October 12 at 2PM.
