Lady Red Devils Compete at State Fair Classic

NEO Game: 

The Lady Red Devil's traveled to Sedalia, MO over Thanksgiving break and competed in the State Fair Classic Friday and Saturday. On Friday the Lady Red Devils took on NEO and did very well at executing what they needed to do offensively and defensively in the first quarter scoring fifteen points being tied with NEO after the first quarter. The Lady Red Devils began to lose their intensity defensively which then affected the outcome on the offensive side of the court, only scoring six points in the second quarter which had them down thirteen points going in at halftime. Hoping to gain some momentum coming into the third quarter the Lady Red Devils couldn't find the energy they needed to NEO came out hot. NEO scored forty-two points combined in the third and fourth quarter and the Lady Red Devils only scored twenty-six leaving the ending score of 47-76. Skyler Evans had twelve points and Britney Schroer had eight, the Lady Red Devils shot 31% from the field and hope to bounce back against State Fair Community College tomorrow.  

State Fair Community College Game: 

The Lady Red Devils returned on Saturday to take on State Fair Roadrunners. They started off slow only scoring seven points in the first quarter and the Roadrunners scoring fifteen, the Lady Red Devils really defended well holding the Roadrunners to nine points in the second quarter and the Lady Red Devils scoring fifteen. The Lady Red Devils shot nine out of twelve free throws in the second quarter making the score twenty-two the Lady Red Devils and twenty-four the Roadrunners. The Lady Red Devils came out with good momentum scoring thirteen points in the third quarter, regardless of adversity of the foul count the Lady Red Devils kept battling on the defensively and delivered on the offensive side. Naomi Smith found herself in a good position, getting nine defensive rebounds. The battle came down to the very end with the Lady Red Devils having position with the ball but not being able to find an open shot, taking the game into overtime with the score 52-52. The next five minutes really came down to focusing on free throws on if the Lady Red Devils would come out on top or not. The Roadrunners shot two free throws and one three pointer allowing them to come out on top with the final score being 54-57. Noa Muranaka had eight points, along with Shade Richardson and the Lady Red Devils shot 29% from the field. The Lady Red Devils look forward taking on North Cental at home on Tuesday at 6:00PM.
