Lady Red Devils Improve to 3-2 in Conference

The Allen Lady Red Devils are now 3-2 in Kansas Jayhawk conference play after their win at home yesterday against Fort Scott. They opened the game with a strong first quarter, leading by 2 points going into the second quarter.Freshman Skyler Evans hit a 3 pointer early in the second quarter that started a Lady Red Devils scoring run. Freshman Naomi Smith had 8 of her 12 points in the second quarter, making some tough moves to the basket and finishing through contact. The Lady Red Devils outscored Fort Scott by 17 points in the second quarter and eventually ended the first half of play with a 19 point lead.

After the Lady Red Devils explosive second quarter, freshman Clara Romero stepped up big in the third quarter making 3 baskets that helped them keep their momentum. Romero ended the game with 15 points for the Lady Red Devils. Sophomore Adji Mbaye led all scoring for the Lady Red Devils with 18 points. She also shot 85% from the free-throw line, only missing one free throw for the game. 

The Lady Red Devils will be on the road this Saturday headed to Kansas City, to play Kansas City Kansas Community College at 2pm.
