Allen Outlasts NEO

Allen Men's soccer traveled to Miami, Oklahoma to play against Northeastern Oklahoma Community College on Sunday, September 5th.  The game was a high paced, physical game from the opening kick-off that the Devils would win 2-1.  In the first half Allen controlled the possession and the chances on goal, but in the 20th minute the Norsemen were awarded  a penalty kick.  They stepped up and buried the penalty in the back of the net to take the 1-0 lead and it stayed that way until halftime.

The second half was much of the same for the Devils creating a lot of chances and controlling the majority of the ball.  In the 70th minute Daniel Galindo hit a screamer from outside the box to tie the game at 1-1, it was assisted by Tiago Troyano.  Both teams would have a couple chances to take the lead and the Devils would go a man down when David Almeida received a red card in the 80th minute.  This did not slow Allen down though, they kept fighting and scratching to get a winning goal. In the 87th minute, Jordan Mase played a ball to Troyano who sent a bending ball to the far post side netting to put the Devils up 2-1.  The Devils would keep possession of the ball to run the rest of the time out.  James Hobson came up big in goal for the win and recorded 6 saves.

The Devils next match is on 9/7 at home against NOC Tonkawa at 4 pm.
