The Allen Men's Basketball team earned a 1-1 split at the DMACC classic is Des Moines, IA this weekend. Allen fell to #4 DMACC on Friday night by the score of 69-80. Allen fell behind in the early going but made a late run in first half to keep within striking distance. 

Allen began the second half down by 8 points, but a quick run in the early minutes allowed Allen to get right back in the game. Midway through the half the Red Devils took a brief 2-point lead, but DMACC would respond with a big run of their own. Allen fought hard in the second half, but ultimately came up short on the comeback attempt. 

On Saturday Allen faced #20 Iowa Western in a quick turnaround game for both teams. Allen missed a few easy attempts at the rim early in the game, but eventually the shots started dropping for the Red Devils. Allen would finish the half strong and took a 7-point advantage into the break. 

In the second half Allen was able to maintain their lead and eventually extended their lead up to 15 points with 10 minutes remaining. Allen's pressure defense caused fits for Iowa Western and made it tough for the Reiver's to get any offensive flow. Allen would hold Iowa Western under 50 points for the game and the final score ended up 69-49 in favor of the Red Devils. 

Allen is now 5-4 on the season. Next Allen will host Kansas Wesleyan JV on Tuesday.
