Red Devils Take Down Greyhounds

The Allen Men's basketball team earned the regular season sweep over the Fort Scott Greyhounds 73-55 on Wednesday night in Fort Scott, KS. The Greyhounds had a brief lead of 6-3 in the early going, but Allen would settle in and regain the lead for good shortly after. The Red Devils held a steady lead of 7 to 8 points, but Chris Dixon would connect on back-to-back 3's to extend the lead, and Cedric Rollerson nailed a 3 at the halftime buzzer to give Allen a 12-point advantage 40-28.

Allen came out aggressive in the second half and quickly pushed the lead close to 20 points. The Red Devils appeared to be running away with the win, but Allen got stuck on 65 points for several minutes and the Greyhounds fought back to keep the final few minutes interesting. Fort Scott would cut the deficit to 10 with 4:00 minutes remaining. The Red Devils regained their composure and finished the game at the free-throw line and converted a couple easy chances at the rim to seal away the win.

Chris Dixon had a breakout game with 16 points, as he connected on 3-7 from beyond the arc. Zabriel Boozer had several electrifying dunks that got the Allen crowd into the game and gave the Red Devils a lot of momentum. Cedric Rollerson finished with 10 points.
