Coming off an opening day sweep the Red Devils couldn't sustain there efforts dropping both ends of a double header to Ellsworth Community College out of Iowa.
Taking the ball in game 1 was Jackson Sloan. Sloan went 2 innings in his first of the season. Surrendering 3 hits and 5 runs, only 1 of those runs were earned. Taking the tough luck loss was KJ Mccrea. Mccrea threw 3 innings, giving up 3 runs 2 of which were earned.
Offensively Allen was led by Brayden Whitchurch. Whitchurch had another multi hit game, with a triple and an RBI. Also having hits were Dylan Price and Clayton Hale.
In Game 2 Freshman James O'Neal took the ball. O'Neal took the loss in his first start of the year. O'Neal gave up 4 earned runs in his 2 innings of work on only 1 hit. The freshman walked 5 and struck out 4.
Leading the charge at the plate was Thad Huber. Huber had a multi hit game with 2 doubles and 2 RBI's. Also having 2 hits was Quinton Weld. Also Cole Chestnet hit a 2-run homerun for the Red Devils.
The Red Devils are scheduled to take the field again against Ottawa JV on Monday, March 4th at 1 PM, weather and field conditions permitting.
