Track Region VI Championship Recap

Men

Allen Community College men's track and field team traveled to Garden City for the Region VI Championship this past weekend.  With outstanding performances, the Red Devils were able to Place 6th in the KJCCC East Conference.  Elijah Cole Placed 7th in the conference with a time of 15.47. Rasmus Wright placed second in the region, but first in the east conference in the 400 hurdles with a time of 54.74 as he finished into a strong head wind. Following Rasmus, Rotchild Telsaint placed 4the and the conference and Sean Dixon placed 8th in the 400 hurdles. Irayjuan placed 3rd in the conference in the high jump as he cleared 1.97m over the bar. Jeremiah Saintill placed 4the in the triple jump with a mark of 14.35m. As for the Red Devils relays both the 4x100m and 4x400m placed in the top 5 as they work their way to a strong finish. The Red Devils are looking forward to ending the season on a good note as they travel to Hutchinson KS for the NJCAA national championship.

Women

Allen Community College women's track and field team traveled to Garden City for the regional Championship this past weekend.  With outstanding performances, the Red Devils were able to Place 4th in the KJCCC East Conference. Felicity Watkins had a great meet as she finished top 8 in both the 200m and 400m open. In the 200m Felicity placed 4th in the conference with a time of 24.45 and she placed 2nd in the 400m (58.41). Red Devils distance crew competed well in the 1500m with 3 top 8 finished in the conference, Nevaeh Pantoja placing 3rd, Elka Billing Placed 4th and Rachel Bycroft finished 5th. Ursula Billings left it all on the track in the 5000m as she finished 2nd in the conference. Maddox Gomez had a great performance in the 400 hurdles as she finished 2nd in the conference. Allen also had some success in the field events as Ashley Robinson placed 2nd in the triple jump with a personal best mark of 11.38m. To top off the meet the Red Devils women 4x400m finished second in the conference as they competed hard to the very end. The Red Devils are looking forward to ending the season on a good note as they travel to Hutchinson KS for the NJCAA national championship.
