Shade Richardson signs with OKWU

Allen Women’s basketball coach, Leslie Crane, has announced the signings of the Sophomore Women’s basketball players to the Universities of their choosing. “It is with bittersweet emotion that we announce our Sophomore players moving on. This is why they came to Allen, to play college basketball and have a chance to be recruited to the university level. Although they will be missed and hard to replace, we wish them all the best and look forward to seeing their success in the future.”

Shade Richardson has chosen to attend Oklahoma Wesleyan University to continue her education is shown here in her new OKWU uniform. Shade is originally from Lauderdale Lakes, Florida and came to Allen by way of Eastern Nazarene College in Massachusetts.  A transfer guard, Shade embraced the position of point guard and exploded onto the stage to become Defensive Player of the Year in the Jayhawk conference. Richardson was able to use her quickness and speed to make her opponents guards cringe while they attempted to advance the ball. Not only was she a demon defender, she also averaged 9 points, 3 assists and 3 steals to round out her nightly contributions. Shade will carry on with her defensive lessons and bring that determination to the KCAC next season.
