Defensive Player of the Year: Shade Richardson – Allen Community College

Allen guard Shade Richardson closed out her sophomore season averaging 7.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.1 steals per game. She was the only Red Devil player to start all 30 games. Voted the top defensive player of the year, Allen head coach Leslie Crane says Richardson has great anticipation and knowledge of the game which she uses to wreak havoc on her opponents. She uses her athleticism to intercept passes, close down on penetrating scorers and became one of the top rebounding guards in the conference.
