On Wednesday, October 23rd the Allen Volleyball program would have a tough task ahead of them. With hopes of staying in post season contention, the Red Devils needed a win against #11 Cloud County at their last home match. Allen would start the match playing point for point with Cloud for the first 10 points of the set. Cloud entered the match with an injured player, forcing them to make some lineup changes. The Red Devils, would take some time adjusting to the lineup change and go down 6 points midway through the first set. Allen wouldn't be able to gain the necessary momentum to close the set, so the T-Birds would take the first 16-25.
In the second, Allen and Cloud would play a tight game. The largest lead for Allen would come towards the end pushing them ahead 23-20. The set would end in the Red Devils favor at 25-21. The 3rd and 4th sets would be rough starts for Allen going down early 8 or more points. In the 3rd the Devils again couldn't push enough to regain the lead. Allen would lose the 3rd 25-19. The 4th set however would provide the Devils what they were lacking in sets 1 and 3. Allen still played from behind for a portion of the set; down to 3-10 at the start. With a motivational timeout, the Devils would regain the confidence and push back to tie Cloud at 12-12. Allen would keep the momentum and gain confidence the rest of the set, making some hustle plays to win 25-19.
The last set would begin much like the others playing point for point. Allen would go down a deficit of 2 points at 5-7 and stay there until the switch at 8. Allen would regain the lead forcing a Cloud timeout at 9-8. Allen would never look back, keeping the lead the rest of the set to win 15-11
