Ladies Fall to Seward

The ladies traveled to Liberal this evening to take on nationally ranked Seward. The ladies knew going into the game the task at hand and would come out to a very strong start. The strong defensive start would give the ladies a quick 6-0 lead. Ariel Walker would be hot in the early going as she would attack Seward for easy buckets. The ladies would stun the crowd as they took a first quarter lead 16-15.

In the second quarter, a different team would come out of the huddle. Seward would go on a quick 8-0 run out of the quarter and be up 23-16 within the first two minutes. The lack of offense would plague the ladies for the next 4 minutes while Seward would crash the offensive glass for easy points multiple trips in a row. The ladies would struggle to contain the size and speed of Seward in the quarter and would be down 44-26 at halftime.

The second half would be better for the ladies as they would find some rhythm on offense as Maisie Schroeder would get going late in the third along with Taryn Kelley. The ladies would only be out scored by 8 points in the last half of the game. However, the second quarter deficit was too much to overcome. The final score of 55-85 wasn't the feel for the game as they ladies only had 1 quarter that they would struggle. The ladies were led by Ariel Walker with 16, Maisie Schroeder and Taryn Kelley would each add 9 points.

The ladies are back in action at home this coming Saturday at 2pm against Colby.
