Women lose close one at Colby

The ladies traveled to Colby today to take on the Trojans. They would get off to a slow start and not be able to find many baskets early in the game. Ariel Walker would lead a charge in the first half both on offense and defense. No one would join in her efforts early as the ladies would get down 10 in the second quarter. After a timeout, the ladies would give Colby a full court press they couldn't handle. They would chip away at the lead by creating turnovers and transition points. They would tie it up with under a minute to go into half but Colby would hit a basket late to go into halftime ahead 34-32. 

The second half would stay close throughout the 20 minutes. Jakira Wilson would take over in the second half as she would attack and Colby would have no answer. There would be 3 ties and 6 lead changes in the fourth quarter. Colby would connect on a few easy layups as the ladies would kiss crucial free throws and a layup near the end. Colby would be up 5 with 2 minutes to go and not look back. The ladies would foul but Colby would not miss from the line. The ladies came up short 79-73 on the road. 

Ladies were led by Jakira Wilson with 24, Ariel walker added 13, Gabby Guzman added 10 and ChrisAlee Patterson and Alecia Verge each added 8. The ladies travel to Dodge City tomorrow to take on a strong team!
