Red Devils Fight but Fall Short Against #19 Cowley

GAME ONE

The Red Devils were the first on the board scoring on a sacrifice fly by Madisyn Thompson in the top of the first. They were quickly matched by Cowley CC as they also scored one off of a solo homerun in the bottom of the inning. Cowley CC then took the lead in the bottom of the second on an RBI single.

The Red Devils came back with a three-run homerun on a 2-2 count by Sam Greninger to put the score at 4-2 going into the bottom of the third. Cowley CC took the lead for good with three runs in the third inning. Cowley CC added two more runs in both the fifth and sixth to make the final score 9-4 in game one.

Chloe Enderud took the loss for the Red Devils. She allowed nine hits and nine runs over six innings, striking out three.

Darby Lewis led the Red Devils in game one with two hits in four at bats.

GAME TWO

The Red Devils' effort to come back from down eight runs in the fourth inning came up just short, as they fell 8-6 to Cowley CC on Thursday, April 18th in game two. Red Devils scored six runs in the failed comeback on a triple by Darby Lewis in the fifth, a single by Meg Kirk in the fifth, a groundout by Macie Cervantes in the fifth, a triple by Kirk in the sixth, and a double by Jo-Elle Natividad in the seventh.

Red Devils fell behind early in the loss. Cowley CC scored three runs in the second inning, and five in the bottom of the fourth.

The Red Devils tallied four runs in the fifth inning. Lewis, Kirk, and Cervantes all drove in runs in the frame. Meg Kirk's triple drove in a run in the sixth, and Natividad's double drove in a run in the seventh as the Red Devils continued to fight the deficit.

Ronna Erickson took the loss for the Red Devils. She lasted three and two-thirds innings, allowing seven hits and eight runs.

The Red Devils tallied seven hits in game two. Kirk and Madisyn Thompson all managed multiple hits for the Red Devils. Thompson and Kirk each collected two hits to lead Red Devils.
