The Lady Red Devils Claw Back, but Fall Just Short Against Highland Community College

The Lady Red Devils effort to come back from down five runs in the fifth inning came up just short, as they fell 6-4 to Highland Community College on Tuesday. The Lady Red Devils scored three runs in the failed comeback on a double by Chelsea Lake and a groundout by Marissa Lilly.

The Lady Red Devils lost despite out-hitting Highland Community College ten to nine.

Highland Community College captured the lead in the first inning. With one out in the first inning Sydney Anderson drove in one run when she tripled.

Highland Community College took the lead for good with one run in the third inning. In the third Anderson grounded out, scoring one run.

The Lady Red Devils scored three runs in the seventh inning. The Lady Red Devils scored on a double by Chelsea Lake and a groundout by Marissa Lilly.

Haley Donaldson earned the win for Highland Community College. She tossed seven innings, surrendering four runs, ten hits, and striking out two. Raegan Beckley took the loss for The Lady Red Devils. She went four innings, giving up four runs, five hits, striking out one, and walking one.

The Lady Red Devils collected ten hits. Sarah Eckart, Alexis Ramos, and Winter Henry each collected multiple hits for The Lady Red Devils. Henry, Ramos, and Eckart all had two hits to lead The Lady Red Devils.

Highland Community College had nine hits in the game. Maddie Moore, Maddie Miller, and Kenzie Garbin each collected multiple hits for Highland Community College.
