Big hitting performance carries The Lady Red Devils past Des Moines Area CC 7-6

An impressive effort by Ashley Womack led The Lady Red Devils to a 7-6 win in seven innings over Des Moines Area CC, the 5th ranked team in the nation.

Womack hit two home runs for The Lady Red Devils. Womack went 2-2 in the game with three RBIs and three runs scored. Womack homered in the third and seventh innings.

The game was back-and-forth heading into the seventh, with seven lead changes.

The Lady Red Devils took the lead in the seventh inning and held on for the victory. The Lady Red Devils went up for good on a solo home run by Womack off Madison Rasmusson.

Even though Raegan Beckley allowed six runs over seven innings she still recorded the victory. Beckley struck out five, walked one and gave up 11 hits.

Madison Rasmusson couldn't get it done on the rubber for Des Moines Area CC, taking a loss. She lasted just 2 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed two runs.

The Lady Red Devils jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the bottom of the third. The Lady Red Devils got things going when Sarah Eckart singled. A groundout by Marissa Lilly then moved Eckart from first to second. Womack homered, scoring Eckart.

Des Moines Area CC pushed across one run in both the fifth inning and the sixth. In the fifth, Des Moines Area CC scored on an RBI single by Brittney Roby, bringing home Brooke Staker.

The Lady Red Devils quickly matched Des Moines Area CC's strong inning with a four-run inning of its own in the fifth. The Lady Red Devils scored on an RBI double by Lilly, an RBI double by Emmy McManigal, and a two-run double by Alexis Campuzano.
