Men's Cross Country at Oklahoma State Cowboy Jamboree

Men place 2nd overall, led by Ben Najman

The Allen Community College men's cross country team competed at the Oklahoma State Cowboy Jamboree on Saturday in Stillwater, Okla.

The men's squad finished the 8k in second place as a team with 62 total points.
NAIA powerhouse University of Saint Mary won the men's race with just 45 points.

Allen men had all of its top 5 runners in the top 25. The men ran against other members of the Jayhawk Conference for the 1st time this season and were able to beat all of the NJCAA schools that were entered.

Ben Najman, who has been the Red Devils' top runner so far this season, once again was Allen's fastest runner on the men's side.
Najman's time of 26:09.1 was good enough to place second overall.

His teammate Pedro Montoya finished in third place, just 3.8 seconds behind.

"I really liked how our front group took out and controlled themselves at the early stages of the meet." "This meet always serves as a great fitness test to see where we are at as a team."

The Allen cross country team will compete next at the Fort Hays State Open on Oct. 10.
