Allen Men Win Thriller To Sweep Dodge City

The Allen Men's basketball team earned a regular season sweep over Dodge City CC Saturday afternoon 79-78. In a back and forth contest from the start, the largest lead Dodge City has was 6 points, and the largest lead for the Red Devils was 5. 

Allen found themselves down by 4 points at the halftime break 36-40. Allen came out quickly in the second half and tied it up. From there both teams would exchange leads, and there was 22 lead changes for the game. 

Allen had its largest lead of the game with 3:21 left in second half. Dodge City would go on a 5-0 run to tie the game with  over a minute to play.  Allen ran the shot clock down to a few seconds and Tyler Williams sank the go ahead 3 that ended up being the game winning shot. Dodge City would go down and get an offensive rebound put back to cut the lead to 1. With 35 seconds left Dodge City decided not to foul down 1. Allen ran the clock down, and Tyler Williams found Jacobia Platt wide open in the corner. Platt missed the 3, and Dodge had a player streaking down the floor. Dodge threw a length of the floor pass, but Jacobia sprinted back and was able to snatch it before the Dodge City player could get to it. That steal sealed the win for the Red Devils.
