Men's Cross Country:
Ricardo was able to take a big win at our home meet on August 26, finishing his 5k in 15:50.07. Ricardo took the lead and the win from the gun, dominating his competition. Do to the soccer game we had to adjust the course making Ricardo’s time a course record for our new home course. Ricardo, knowingly, pushed himself to a large lead to “break” athletes who followed him. This allowed teammate Philip Lagemann to take a very strong 2nd place finish as he was able to pass the 3 athletes that couldn’t take the pace set by Ricardo. This performance allowed the Allen Cross Country Team (Men) to take first at our single home meet of the season.
Ricardo along with the rest of his teammates participate in all of our fundraising events and also in our charitable events. This past week Ricardo was part of the Iola Block Party held by St. Timothy’s Church at the Iola Community Center. Ricardo and teammates were in charge of holding games, cake walks, and assisting children in some fun activities. Other events include volunteering at Worlds of Fun, Family Physicians, and at St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church.
Women's Soccer:
Brynn is a freshman from Wichita Ks., she has started every game and scored five goals and one assist in the month of August. She scored two goals against Butler the #2 team in the nation, she has helped out with the Red Devil Soccer Academy. She is on academic scholarship, as well as a soccer scholarship.
