Red Devils blow out Crowder
Sep 15, 2025

The Allen Community College Red Devils didn't let a bit of rain spoil their home opener as they trounced Crowder College 5-1.

If Crowder College was hoping Wednesday?s rain would cool off the red hot Red Devil?s chances, they were sadly mistaken.

The Allen Community College women won their home opener 5-1.

The Red Devils found the net on multiple occasions with four players scoring in the blowout.

?We?re seeing who can play where and who we can count on,? Allen coach Jeremy McGinnis said. ?Putting Maria Diaz and Priya Stranger in as midfielders worked really well. They won the ball and kept it for us. That was a big part of our game today. Charlotte Gatehouse was coming around and I knew she was due.?

After falling in their opener in Dallas 9-1, the Red Devils have been on a tear, demolishing their previous last two opponents by a 7-2 margin. Gatehouse, a sophomore striker, scored two of Allen?s goals Wednesday. Gatehouse attributed her success to well-placed passes from her teammates.

?Sofia just crossed the ball and I came down from defense and touched it with my right,? Gatehouse said of the assist by freshman linebacker Sofia Moron. ?The second one, Matha crossed in from the corner and I hit it with my left. It was just the movement as the ball came in, especially my first one. We did it a lot in training.?

The Red Devils lit up the scoreboard one more time in the first period with a goal from sophomore Jillian Muelhberger on an assist from center midfielder Maria Diaz and another from Gatehouse.

By then Crowder seemed out of the contest after a score from freshman center midfielder Mylee Schroder gave Allen an insurmountable 4-1 lead.

Gatehouse kept her momentum in the second period, scoring a goal off an assist from freshman wing Priya Stranger to give her the team lead in scoring. Gatehouse also tied the team lead in assists with a pass to freshman right wing Emily Douglas for the final goal of the day and a 5-1 victory.

?I feel confident in our team. I like to win and I would like to win against State Fair, so we?ll do our best,? Diaz said.
