CHARLOTTE, NC ? For the second-straight week, the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference has six teams ranked and a seventh receiving votes among the latest NJCAA Division 1 and Division 2 Volleyball polls released on Monday, September 15th.

As part of the rankings, four teams are ranked with a fifth receiving votes in the NJCAA Division 2 volleyball top-25 poll, while two teams are ranked inside the top 12 of the latest NJCAA Division 1 volleyball top 20 poll.

Picking up back-to-back wins last week to improve to 8-0 and remain the number one team in the latest Division 2 poll is Cowley College, as the Tigers extended their winning streak to 88 matches in a row. One of only four unbeaten teams left, Kansas City Kansas Community College took a four-set victory over Fort Scott in their home opener last week as part of their only action of the week to improve to 10-0 and remain at number two in the nation, while Johnson County also held steady at number five following a straight-sets victory over Labette. Neosho County turned in a four-set road victory over Highland to move up two spots in the poll to number 18 while Allen Community College makes its first appearance as part of the poll by receiving votes this week with wins over Coffeyville and number 22 Northeastern Oklahoma A&M to improve to 10-2.

Battle-tested division one teams Barton Community College and Colby Community College both fell in the latest poll as the Cougars dropped five spots from number three down to number eight, while the Trojans also saw a five-spot drop and are now ranked number 12. Barton put together a 3-2 week last week, with losses coming to number four-ranked Odessa College and number five-ranked Northeastern Junior College in a tournament played in Sterling, CO, while the Trojans also went 3-2 with losses coming to number 10 New Mexico Military Institute and number four Odessa. Both Barton and Colby are unbeaten in the KJCCC at 3-0, with the remaining seven conference schools each sporting at least one conference loss already.

Action will take place each of the next five days for KJCCC schools, highlighted by D2 number five Johnson County hosting D2 number one Cowley on Wednesday night in a battle of NJCAA D2 heavyweights. Kansas City Kansas will also have a ranked matchup this week, playing host to number nine Iowa Central on Friday afternoon, while Johnson County will host number 25-ranked Central Community College. Saturday will see another KJCCC team take on Iowa Central, with top-ranked Cowley clashing with the Tritons in Kansas City at the KCKCC tournament.
