Allen Community College Shooting Sports Team Fall 2025 Season Recap
Oct 28, 2025

The Allen Community College Shooting Sports Team has officially wrapped up its regular season in the USA College Clay Target League, which included several weeks of practice, a reserve week, and five weeks of virtual competition.

We began the season with three committed athletes and were fortunate to welcome three more, allowing us to meet the league?s minimum team size of five. Newcomers Shaun McLaughlin and Sheldon Weber joined with limited clay target experience but quickly gained a love of the sport, showing growth and enthusiasm. We expect both to continue developing as they gain more experience. Colby Troxel, another addition from the Allen Livestock Team, brought some high school trapshooting experience and proved it with his consistency, ending the season with multiple perfect 25-straight rounds.

Our originally committed athletes Weston Cleaver, Jaryt Hess, and Jozie Stagg kept the team solid with steady performances throughout the season. Each earned multiple 25-straights, and Jaryt even pushed further with perfect 50s, showcasing his renewed desire for the sport.

Competing in a conference of similarly sized teams of 5 to 6 athletes, our squad faced off against seven other colleges and universities. Each week, the top five scores from each team determined the standings. Thanks to our athletes? commitment and drive to better themselves, Allen Community College emerged as Conference Champions for the Freshman Fall 2025 season.

Other Individual conference awards included

Jozie Stagg secured 3rd place among female athletes, edging out the competition by a single target

Jaryt Hess claimed 2nd place in the male category

Weston Cleaver earned 8th place

Colby Troxel tied for 10th place

Looking ahead to this coming weekend, five of our athletes will travel to Brittany Shooting Park in Bunker Hill, IL, to compete in the USA College Clay Target League National Championship. While we?ll be up against teams four to five times our size, the experience will be both challenging and rewarding, a great opportunity for growth and team camaraderie.

Though our fall competition season is concluding, our journey and practices will continue. Practices will shift focus to additional clay target disciplines including skeet, sporting clays, and trap doubles. These efforts will prepare us for the more diverse competitions we plan to attend in the spring.
