Volleyball Sweeps Labette on the Road

Allen Volleyball improved to 3-1 in conference and 7-5 overall after sweeping the Labette Cardinals Wednesday. The Devils had a slow start to the evening with Labette keeping pace part of the first set. Allen and Labette would be tied 12-12 before getting a few serving runs and taking over the set. From the 12-12 tie, Labette would only earn two more points while the Red Devils pushed to 25 with a 13-2 run. Allen would finish the set with 12 kills 4 errors on 32 attempts.

The second set Allen came out with more momentum to take an early lead. A little relaxation from the team led Labette to a closer score before Allen would finish the set 25-21. The second set was the lowest hitting percentage set of the night at .171.

In the 3rd, Allen put everything together to have the best set of the night with 16 kills 4 errors on 28 attacks for a .428%. Many players were successful against the Cardinals, Katy Harris and Gabriela Dominguez led the Devils with 10 kills apiece while Alycia Shaw had 9. Andrea Maldonado had 14 digs, Karsyn Smith followed with 11. Sofia Otero and Giulia Goncalves has 20 and 14 assists to run the offense efficiently. Allen earned 58 of the 75 points of the night.

 

The scores were 25-14, 25-21, 25-16.
