Instead of signing with a D2 school in Oklahoma, Raquel West has decided to move up north and has committed to the University of South Dakota.  West is the first athlete within 10 years to go on to a Division 1 university after Allen.

"I feel incredibly blessed to be given this opportunity.  I have relatives up there so it's exciting to actually be around family while playing," West said.  When asked what she is looking forward to most, she responded with the level of competition she will be playing against.  "I'm also looking forward to the exercise science classes I will be taking to finish my degree in Physical Therapy," West commented.

Whitney Shaw, Allen head coach, is thrilled for West.  "Raquel has the skills and the leadership to exceed at this level and for her to go on to USD is extremely exciting.  I'm so glad she took this opportunity and ran with it."
