Allen falls to NEO in a tight battle

On October 15, Allen competed against NEO, after travelling to Coffeyville for a conference match just the night before.  Allen knew they had a strong competitor before entering the match and fought from the beginning.

In the first set, the Devils came out with incredible energy and were able to get a slight lead and keep it throughout the set.  NEO started earning points and made it a battle at the end, but Allen still came out on top 26-24.  The next set, NEO continued earning their points from the beginning and got an early lead that Allen worked for but couldn't quite catch.  Leaving NEO to win this one 25-17.

The third set was a battle point for point the entire match.  Allen picked up their energy and stuck with the Norsemen. In the end, it came down to errors and Allen had one too many, losing 24-26.  The errors continued and the Devils couldn't quite clean it up enough to come back.  NEO won the last set 16-25.

"Even though it's a loss on the board, I know our girls played their hearts out tonight and that's a loss that I'm able to swallow," said Coach Shaw.

Raquel West led the Devils with 20 assists while Sami Cloe added 15. Andi Dowell led the team with 14 kills.  Followed by Leah Hiebert with 9 kills and 8 kills from Carly Jackson.
