Sophomore Night Victory

Sophomore Night Victory

Red Devil Volleyball recognized it's sophomores on Monday, November 2, and the result was exactly how the sophomores wanted their last home volleyball game to be.  Allen took on Wentworth Military Academy and came out with a 3-1 victory.  Although it was a great match, the major focus was on the 6 sophomores as they were introduced before the game and recognized for their hard work and exceptional talent.

Raquel West, Wimberley, TX, is the starting setter for Allen and averages 5.86 assists per set with 645 total assists.  Raquel also shows strong leadership while on the court.  Raquel plans to attend a four-year university and continue playing volleyball.

Mary Hobbs, Wamego, KS, is a strong right side hitter for the Devils but has had to adjust frequently during the season due to others being injured.  She succeeded in all positions she was forced into, earning a total of 125 kills. Hobbs also plans to continue her volleyball career at a university.

Jackson is also a strong go-to outside for Allen. Although she couldn't play for a couple weeks due to a PCL tear, Jackson still earned 1.83 kills/set and 181 total kills.  Jackson plans to attend Pittsburgh State University.

Kayleigh Roberts, Douglass, KS, is a solid defensive specialist and gets the job done in the back row. During the season, she's earned 2.13 digs per set while only playing three rotations.  Roberts plans to attend a university to continue playing volleyball.

Jessica Pollitt, Overland Park, KS, would have been a big threat for Allen Volleyball if it weren't for an ACL tear shortly into preseason.  Despite this unfortunate situation, Pollitt has been a huge support for the Allen Volleyball and is looked up to by the other girls as a leader.  Pollitt will attend a four year university but is undecided if she will continue playing volleyball.

Madi Maguire, St. Louis, MO, is the team's manager and has put in just as much time as the players.  Maguire attends every practice and game, supporting the Allen Volleyball team.  She also brings a lot of energy to the group with her bright personality.  Maguire plans to attend a four year university after Allen.
