The Lady Red Devils earned their first conference win of the season with a 61-43 victory over the Hesston College Larks. Allen would jump out to an early lead, and their pressure defense caused the Larks some problems. The Lady Red Devils would score 21 points off of Hesston's turnovers for the game. Allen would take a 29-14 advantage into the halftime break.
The Larks tried to keep things interesting as they made several 3-point attempts in the 3rd and 4th quarter, but the Allen defense would get timely defensive stops and kept the lead near 20 points for the majority of the contest. The final result was a 61-43 win for Allen.
Naomi Smith led the way in scoring for Allen with 13 points. Smith would also grab 6 rebounds and dished out 2 assists. Shade Richardson had a great game on both ends of the floor, and she finished with 11 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 steals. Clara Romero and Sara Ortiz both chipped in 9 points.
The Lady Red Devils are now 1-1 in KJCCC action and will travel to Highland, KS on Saturday for a 1:00 pm tip-off against the Scotties.
