Women No-Show 1st Half vs Grizzlies

The Lady Devils hosted Butler this evening as they came in ranked #20 nationally. The ladies would play the worst first half of the season thus far. They would come out timid and not ready. The defensive pressure from Butler would rattle them from the start. Butler would get off to a quick 11-2 lead as the ladies could not buy a bucket or block out the bigs of Butler. The first quarter would end up being a brutal 7-29 in favor of the Grizzlies. The second quarter would be even worse as the ladies would not attack Butler and settle from the outside. No points combined with a lack of defensive effort would have the ladies going into half down an ugly 11-43.

The second half would be a much different story as the ladies would fight back and attack Butler off the dribble. Ariel Walker would catch fire and lead a huge spark in the second half.  ChrisAlee Patterson would join her in her efforts by getting to the basket as well. However, no one else would be in the fight with them. Jakira Wilson would not be her typical self and would not find her first basket until 2 minutes left in the game. The ladies would play Butler to a 4 point game in the second half by a score of 32-36. The effort and energy was much better as they did not fold, however, The deficit in the first half would not be something to come back from.

Ladies were led by Ariel walker with 19, ChrisAlee Patterson added 10 while Gabby Guzman had 5. The ladies head to Coffeyville Saturday for another matchup; weather permitting.
