Women crumble in second half at Dodge

The ladies traveled to Dodge City today after a tough loss to Colby the night before. The ladies knew going into the game that it would be a tough matchup but still had a game plan to make Dodge beat them by outside shooting. In the first half, the ladies executed the game plan perfectly causing trouble for the inside game of Dodge to get going. Several players from Dodge would hit a few outside shots in the first half to keep them in the lead. Paige Jensen would come in and have a huge impact in the first half as she would hit 3 big threes. Ariel walker would also attack the basket for easy buckets. The ladies would be able to press Dodge early and cause them to not play their normal uptempo game. The ladies would go into halftime down 35-43.

The second half would be a struggle on both ends for the ladies. The strength and size of Dodge and fatigue for the Devils would begin to show its ugly face. Multiple offensive rebounds led to Dodge taking a quick lead in the third. However, the ladies continued to battle as Jakira Wilson attacked the rim to keep the spark going. The ladies would struggle to knock down shots late in the game as Dodge continued to out-rebound them for easy second chance points. The ladies would crumble in the fourth and take a loss 62-88.

The ladies were led by Ariel Walker with 16, Paige Jensen added 13 while Jakira Wilson added 12. The ladies next game will be at home on January 3rd against Connors to start off the new year. From the Lady Red Devils family, we wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. See you in 2019!
