Women Fall in 4th to Garden City

The Lady Devils traveled to Garden City today for another conference matchup. The Conqs would have two key players the ladies would have to shut down this game. In the first half, the ladies executed the game plan to a "T". They completely shut down their post player with a trap/double defensive game plan. ChrisAlee Patterson would lead the offensive charge as she attacked the rim every trip. Tunmi Amusa would continue her monster games on the board on both ends of the floor. However, she would struggle to finish easy baskets. The ladies would be down 13-15 after the first. The second quarter would be much of the same except the star guard for Garden would get lose a few possessions and knock down her long range shot. The ladies would continue to fight and play aggressive defense while Ariel Walker caught fire on the offensive end. The ladies would be down 26-29 going into halftime.

The third quarter would be a bit of a scoring drought for the ladies as they would go multiple trips with no points As they would be rattled by Gardens press. Turnovers led to easy layups for Garden as the ladies found themselves down 9 at the end of the quarter. Ariel Walker and Alecia Verge would continue to attack the rim off the dribble to keep the ladies in the game throughout the fourth. However, missed free throws would begin to add up. The ladies would throw a man defense at the Conqs to fight back but Garden would find their main scorer multiple trips for back to back 3s. The ladies would not be able to recover as time would run out. The end score again wasn't the feel for the game with the result being 60-82.
