WBB Gets A Big Win On Sophomore Night

The Lady Devils hosted Pratt this evening for their last regular season game. This final home game for the sophomores would prove to be a fun one. The ladies got off to a hot start from Tamera Shaver as she would do it all on the floor. Her vocal leadership would have the ladies active on defense while her hot 3 point shooting would spark them on offense. Early foul trouble would plague the rest of the team as 3 of the starters would pick up quick fouls and have to sit the remainder of the first half. Tamera Shaver would fight for her team the entire way by herself to keep them in the game at half only down 27-28.

The second half would be a whole new ball game for the ladies. Kam Summons would find her defensive attack and suddenly go for 5 quick steals that led to easy baskets while Jakira Wilson would also attack off the dribble and create space for her jump shot. The defensive pressure Akia Andrews gave in the full court press would rattle Pratt. Akia also came up huge on the boards as she continued to grab rebounds as they jumped over her back. Tamera Shaver continued her hot shooting in the second half as the whole team seemed to catch fire and go on a quick 14-2 run! The ladies would not let off the gas in the fourth quarter as they continued to pound Pratt into the ground. They would not allow them to have anything easy. The ladies would come up with a big win to finish off the regular season 74-55.

The ladies were led by monster games from multiple players. Tamera Shaver led all with 21 points while Jakira Wilson had 16 points and Kam Summons had 15 points with 7 steals. Akia Andrews added 8 points and 11 rebounds as well. The ladies will have their regional playoff game at Butler this Thursday.

The Lady Devils would like to thank everyone who came out to show their support, not just tonight, but throughout the entire season!
