Women Fall to Butler

The Lady Devils traveled to El Dorado to take on a tough Butler team this evening. The ladies would get off to a very slow start on offense as they would find themselves stuck on 5 points for 13 possessions before scoring again. The ladies threw a different defense at Butler that they struggled with to score but with the lack of scoring on their own end, the ladies would find themselves down 10 points the remainder of the quarter. Turnovers would plague the second quarter for the ladies as Butler would pressure out and get steals for easy baskets. Tamera Shaver would get hot as she knocked down back-to-back 3 point baskets late in the second quarter. However, the ladies would go into halftime down 19-38.

The second half would prove to be much of the same as the Devils could never get going on offense. Jakira Wilson would get going in the second half as she would attack the defense and knock down multiple jumpshots. ChrisAlee Patterson also came in and had big minutes as she would play aggressive defense and not settle on offense to get to the paint for a couple "and-1" opportunities. The ladies would  struggle all night to convert shots and would have too many turnovers. They would come up way short 43-72 but they did compete until the final quarter.

The ladies were led by Jakira Wilson who had 13 points while Tamera Shaver and ChrisAlee Patterson each added 8. The ladies will take on Barton at home this Saturday at 2pm.
