Women Fall to Cloud

The Lady Red Devils hosted Cloud this evening after coming off a hard fought game against the top ranked Hutch. The ladies would not get off to a good start as the athletic post would get 3 of them in quick foul trouble in the first half sending them to the bench. The small lineup would allow Cloud to have multiple offensive rebounds for easy points to stretch out a quick 10 point lead. However, Logan Bonner would have a spark for the ladies as she would get hot from behind the arc. Kam Summons also got going on defense as she was back to her aggressive style of play that led to steals and easy layups. However, the 11 offensive rebounds the ladies gave up in the first half would leave them down by a score of 46-32 at the half.

The second half would not be easy for the ladies as they tried to fight their way back. Alecia Verge would make a big difference as she got going on offense including 3/5 from beyond the arc and multiple offense rebounds for easy putbacks. Her spark would not be enough as the ladies would struggle to contain the post for Cloud. The ladies would fight to put on a full court press and try to create havoc for Cloud but the lack of help defense and rebounds would plague the entire second half. Cloud's post would single-handedly lead them the entire game and end up with a strong 40 point performance. The ladies would end up losing 74-93.

The ladies were led by Logan Bonner and Alecia Verge as they each had 15 points. Kam Summons added 14 of her own while Destiny Pittman had 10. The ladies will travel to Pratt this Saturday for another conference matchup. The next home game will be the BIG RIVAL of Neosho on January 20 at 2pm! Please be ready to come out and show your support for the big game (this one never dissapoints).
