Women Fall In Second Half

The Lady Devils hosted Cowley this past Saturday in hopes to give them their second loss on the season. The ladies got off to a great start by executing a defensive game plan against their hot shooters. The ladies were led by Tamera Shaver on offense and defense. Kori Seals also came up huge by taking multiple charges and sparking the ladies with her energy. Cowley's athleticism would still be tough for the ladies when it came to blocking out. They would struggle to keep them from getting second chance points but would still hold their own by attacking their press on offense. Jakira Wilson also came in to have 9 quick points in the half to keep the ladies fighting. The ladies would find themselves in a dead heat at half 34-34.

The second half would be a completely different story for the ladies. They would not come out of halftime and execute the same game plan. No offense for the ladies because of turnovers and lack of focus led to quick points for Cowley and as they would go on a 19-3 run out of halftime and never look back. The ladies allowed the defensive pressure to rattle them in the second half and would not attack as they did in the first. The defensive game plan against their hot shooter would also struggle in the second half. The ladies would not be able to recover from the run they put on them and would end up in a bigger loss than they anticipated 51-75.

The ladies were led by Tamera Shaver with 10, Jakira Wilson with 9, Destiny Pittman with 8 and Kamri Summons with 7. The ladies will travel to Liberal, KS tomorrow for another conference matchup against a tough Seward team on Wednesday night.
