Women Crumble vs Butler

The Lady Devils hosted Butler this past Saturday and the end result would not be pretty. The ladies would get off to a very slow start by not executing the game plan on the defensive end and not attacking the gaps on offense. They would find themselves down 5-18 right off the bat and would not be able to recover. The typical aggressive play of Kam Summons and Tamera Shaver was absent and the only thing to see was the cold shooting from the ladies. Jakira Wilson would come in and make a big impact as she would play aggressive on both sides of the floor. However, no one would help her efforts and the ladies would find themselves down 22-41 at the half.

The second half would be a better performance as the bench would come in and compete to fight their way back. Logan Bonner got hot from beyond the arc while Destiny Pittman also found her steals for transition baskets. However, the deficit would be too much to overcome. Overall, the team effort was lacking which very easily could be seen on the court. The ladies would shoot an ugly 28% from the field and 18% from 3. This combined with the turnovers showed little focus throughout the game. The final resulted as their biggest loss on the season 57-87.

The ladies were led by Jakira Wilson with 14 points while Destiny Pittman added 12 of her own. The ladies plan to fight back and will travel to Barton this Wednesday to take on a hot shooting team in Great Bend.
