Lady Red Devils Over Pratt 66-51

Lady Red Devils Over Pratt 66-51

The Lady Red Devils traveled to Pratt this evening for their final regular season game. After previously losing to Pratt on their home floor, the ladies were ready to give them a taste of their own medicine. The game would be very slow moving at first for the Lady Devils as they would be cold from the field. The ladies would quickly find themselves in a 10 point deficit of 8-18 in the first quarter but would quickly bounce back to find their rhythm. Kamri Summons would ignite the offense by her aggressive play and lead the ladies on a strong comeback to take the advantage over the Beavers at the half 27-26.

The third quarter would prove to be another strong performance from the Lady Devils. The ladies played great team basketball by sharing the ball and getting everyone involved on offense. Tamera Shaver would get going and knock down big shots to stretch the lead even more. Damonica Franklin also played strong inside the post both on offense and defense and would end up with a double-double for the night. The ladies would end the quarter with a 15-4 run and a 12 point lead.

The ladies would not look back at this point in the game. They continued to attack on offense and shut down the shooting of Pratt. The ladies would get out to an 18 point lead as Pratt tried to press and foul to cut into the lead but with no success. The ladies finished the game strong and gave Pratt the taste they wanted to on their home floor. The final score resulted 66-51.

The ladies were led by Kamri Summons with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 5 steals. Tamera Shaver added 11 points along with Damonica Franklin who had 11 points and 13 rebounds. Akia Andrews also chipped in 8 points and 7 rebounds. The ladies solely clinch the 9 seed for the first round of regional playoffs and will head to Independence on Thursday to knock off the Pirates!
