Allen Basketball vs. Barton

The Lady Devils traveled to Barton tonight for another conference matchup. After losing the previous game at home against Barton by 12, the ladies were ready to give them a taste of their own medicine. The ladies struggled out of the gates to go down quickly 0-7. After a quick timeout by Coach Buchanan, the ladies responded and would play Barton evenly and end the quarter 11-18. The ladies would then struggle possession after possession to score, whether it was from inside or out. In the second quarter, the ladies could not get anything going on offense as there would only be 5 points scored the entire quarter. They would end up shooting a rough 6-30 from the field and find themselves down 16-28 at half.

The second half would prove to be a change of pace for point guard Kamri Summons. She would begin to create her own shot and get open on the offensive end to find some rhythm for the ladies. Full court pressure would also rattle Barton to cut the lead down to 6 points throughout the third quarter. Sequerah Alleyne would came up huge in the second half on the boards by grabbing crucial rebounds on defense. However, poor shooting would still plague the rest of the team. The ladies would come up short to Barton by the same margin as the previous matchup 50-62.

The ladies were led by Kamri Summons who had 17 points and 7 rebounds. Damonica Franklin added 11 points and 9 rebounds. Tamera Shaver had 9 points of her own and 3 steals. The ladies next game will be at home next Wednesday the 8th against Cowley.
