Allen Over Colby

After facing a tough loss at the buzzer on Saturday against Neosho, the Lady Red Devils had a chance to sweep Colby here at home. The ladies got off to a slow start as they quickly got down 0-7 in the first minutes of the game. However, the ladies would get it back on defense and shut down their best player and create problems for Colby to score. Tamera Shaver led the way in the first half by her leadership and aggressive offense. Shaver attacked the full court pressure and knocked down shots to get the ladies back in the lead in the second quarter 16-11. The ladies would end up going into half with only a 3 point lead 25-22.

In the second half, Damonica Franklin got going and took over the game from the post. Not only did she play strong and score inside, she also had multiple "And-1" plays that got their posts into foul trouble. The ladies still let Colby hang around instead of putting them away on the scoreboard. Kamri Summons also led the way in the second half with her defense by getting steals for easy lay-ups.  It wasn't pretty basketball, but the ladies came out with the win by a score 53-47 and sweep Colby.

The ladies were led by Damonica Franklin who had 18 points and 10 rebounds. Tamera Shaver added 8 of her own.  The ladies will travel to Garden City tomorrow to try and sweep them as well on their home floor Saturday.
