The Lady Red Devils Travel To Butler For Regionals

The Lady Devils traveled to Butler this evening for their regional game. The ladies traveled with only 6 players due to the suspensions from the rivalry game against Neosho. The ladies worked on a completely new defense this week that Coach Buchanan drew up based on the lineup changes. This defense caused Butler all kinds of trouble. They would not be able to score unless they had transition points. This led to a first quarter lead for the ladies 14-11.

Ashley Sally led the offense in the first half with her famous step-back move that led to crucial shots she would knock down. The lead for Allen would remain until the end of the quarter when the ladies would get worn down and this resulted in turnovers and easy buckets for Butler. The ladies would be down 23-37 at the half.

Coming out of halftime, the ladies would have another surge to throw at Butler. Haley Wilson would get hot from downtown and lead the offensive strea in the second half and cut the lead to 8 in the third quarter. However, the numbers and strength of Butler would outweigh the small lineup of the Lady Devils.

The final score resulted in a loss for the ladies 72-53. The ladies never gave up and fought every possession down the stretch. The entire game revolved around a 10 point difference. The ladies competed and complete their season knowing how hard they played.

The ladies were led by Haley Wilson with 21 points while Ashley Sally added 16. Rachael Bruce and Addie Haar came up big on the boards as each of them came up with nearly 10 and contributed big minutes on defense.

The Allen Lady Devil players and coaches would like to thank all of the Allen family and friends for their love and support throughout this past season. We could not have done it without you. Until next year.......
