Lady Red Devils lost to Cloud 78-57

The Lady Red Devils competed against Cloud on Saturday afternoon for another conference game. The ladies would get off to a great start by sharing the basketball, knocking down shots and playing solid zone defense. It proved to be a high scoring quarter and the ladies would have the lead until the last 50 seconds of the first quarter when Cloud went up 21-26.

The second quarter would get off to a slow start for the Lady Devils as they started slipping on the defensive end and let Cloud get wide open shots and offensive rebounds. Haley Wilson would lead the first half with 10 points, however, the ladies would have a halftime deficit of 37-47.

The second half would be ice cold shooting for the Lady Devils. They would end up shooting 22% from the field and 0% from beyond the arc while Cloud would not be able to miss. Ariyah Sorrells was the leading post player who would play strong and get to the foul line. The ladies would keep it to a 10 point game through the third quarter but would slip in the fourth and would get beat by a final score 78-57.

The Lady Devils were led by Haley Wilson with 13 points, Ashley Washington with 12 and Ariyah Sorrells with 11. The ladies are now 6-11 and will be on the road to take on a strong Coffeyville team on Wednesday.
