Lady Red Devils fall to Dodge City

The Lady Devils traveled to Dodge City this evening to face another conference opponent. The ladies got off to a slow start in the first half and would not be able to buy a bucket. They had open looks but could not convert them and would end up shooting 1-11 from beyond the arc and only 10-36 from the field.  Damonica Franklin would be the only threat on offense as she led the scoring in the post. This would lead to a big halftime deficit 28-51.

The ladies would have a different mindset coming out of halftime and found the energy and poise to fight their way back into the game. The Lady Devils went to a bit of a different lineup by having all guards in the game and would make a run and cut the lead to a 5 point game in the 4th quarter. Haley Wilson led the attack with some great shooting including 3 crucial threes in the second half. Mckena Arlt would also get hot and add 12 points of her own. However, this would prove to be too little too late as Dodge would knock down crucial free throws. The final score resulted in a victory for Dodge 91-79.

Haley Wilson led with 18 points, Mckena Arlt added 12 points and Damonica Franklin had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. The ladies are now 1-3 in conference and have a little time off before the next conference game on January 2nd.
