KCK over Allen 86-42

The Lady Red Devils traveled to KCK this afternoon for day two of the tournament to play against KCK. Heading into the game, the ladies knew they would have to execute their offense against an aggressive man to man defense but this would never happen through four quarters of play. The ladies did not have a problem getting open shots in the half court but lacked the focus and strength to finish at the rim. This led to the athleticism of KCK having easy chances for quick transition points. At halftime, the ladies were down by a score 20-43.

The second half would be much of the same story. The Lady Devils had way too many turnovers that led to Layups for KCK. They also struggled to find their shots in rhythm because of the continued pressure by KCK - another reason why our typical 3 point shooters did not have a chance to get their shots off. This resulted in shooting only 2-8 for the game from behind the arc. Despite the final score, the ladies played with their hearts until the end of the game and did not hang their heads or give up. The final score: 86-42.

The ladies were led by Ariyah Sorrells who had 13 points and 5 rebounds. Haley Wilson followed with 10 points. The ladies are now 4-3 and will FINALLY be HOME for a game next Thursday (Nov 19) at 6pm for a rematch against a strong Crowder team.
