Red Devils split with Maplewoods Community College.

In game one Devils defeated Maplewoods Community College 8-2, thanks to a timely five runs in a big second inning. Winter HenryChelsea Lake, and Sierra Thompson all contributed in the big inning with RBIs. Red Devils fired up the offense in the first inning, when Julia Keating drew a walk, scoring one run. Courtney Gard was the starting pitcher. She went two innings, allowing one run on three hits and striking out one. Dela Boyd threw five innings in relief out of the bullpen. Boyd recorded the last 15 outs to earn the win for Red Devils. Henry led Red Devils with three hits in four at bats. Red Devils tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Chelsey Henry and Winter Henry led the way with two.

In game two the Red Devils fell short 5-2, Abby Walker took the loss for Red Devils. She went four and a third innings, allowing five runs on seven hits and walking one.

Red Devils tallied ten hits in the game, but failed to push runs across when needed. Winter HenrySierra Thompson, and Darby Lewis each collected multiple hits for Red DevilsHenry went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Red Devils in hits.

Red Devils will be back in action this weekend with a home series starting on Saturday vs. Jefferson College at 2/4p and Sunday vs. Des Moines Area Community College at 12/2p.
