Allen Sweeps Red Ravens on the Road

Game 1

Ellie Hacker was clutch at the plate with ducks on the pond on Thursday, April 13th in game one driving in four on two hits to lead the Red Devils past the Red Ravens 9-1 in a 6-inning run rule in game one.  Hacker drove in runs on a double in the second, a sacrifice fly in the fourth, and a home run in the sixth.

 

Allen opened up scoring in the first inning.  Lacey Stamper drew a walk, scoring one run.

 

Skyler Jackson was credited with the victory for the Red Devils. The right-hander surrendered one run on four hits over six innings, striking out six and walking one.

 

The Red Devils hit one home run on the day. Hacker had a homer in the sixth inning.

 

Allen tallied 11 hits in game one.  Bailey Cravens, Hacker, and Madisyn Havenstein all collected multiple hits for the Red Devils.  Havenstein, Hacker, and Cravens each collected two hits to lead Allen.  The Red Devils didn't commit a single error in the field. Hacker had the most chances in the field with six.

 

Game 2

Brooklyn Goehring collected five hits in five at bats, as the Red Devils defeated the Red Ravens 12-5 in game two.  Goehring singled in the first, singled in the third, singled in the fourth, singled in the fifth, and singled in the seventh.

 

Allen earned the victory despite allowing the Red Ravens to score four runs in the fifth inning.  

 

The Red Devils notched four runs in the fourth inning.  Allen's big inning was driven by singles by Goehring and Robin Todd, a walk by Ashley Tribble, and a groundout by Jaydee Pulliam.

 

Brooklyn Ellis earned the win for Allen. Ellis surrendered two runs on six hits over six and two-thirds innings, striking out two.  Makayla McGinnis threw one-third of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.

 

The Red Devils racked up 17 hits in game two.  Goehring, Bailey Cravens, Pulliam, and Todd all had multiple hits for Allen.  Goehring led the Red Devils with five hits in five at bats.  Allen was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Tribble made the most plays with four.

 

The Red Devils are now 10-17 on the season and 2-6 in conference play. They are back at home on Sunday, April 16th with another conference double header to take on the Cowley Tigers at 1:00 & 3:00pm.
