GAME ONE

Madelynn Throws Shutout As Red Devils Defeats Independence CC

Madelynn Collins didn't allow a single run against Independence CC, throwing a complete game shutout and leading the Red Devils to a 5-0 victory on Thursday, April 14th in game one.

Red Devils got on the board in the first inning when Hailee Lundine doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.

Allen put up three runs in the seventh inning. The Red Devils put the pressure on, lead by a single by Lundine and a sac fly by Lacey Stamper.

Collins pitched the Red Devils to victory. The right-hander went seven innings, allowing zero runs on five hits and striking out six.

Allen tallied six hits in the game. Lundine and Mikayla Long all had multiple hits for the Red Devils. Lundine led the Red Devils with three hits in four at bats.

GAME TWO

Red Devils Grabs Lead In Eighth Inning For Victory Over Independence CC

Red Devils nabbed the lead late in the game in a 9-8 victory over Independence CC in game two. The game was tied at eight with Allen batting in the top of the eighth when Alayna Brown singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

Bats blistered as the Red Devils collected 13 hits and Independence CC tallied nine in the high-scoring game.

Independence CC took an early lead in the second inning scoring 4 runs on a grand slam.

In the bottom of the seventh inning, Independence CC tied things up at eight. An error scored one run for Independence CC.

After Allen scored one run in the top of the fifth, Independence CC answered with one of their own. The Red Devils scored when Chloe Rogers doubled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run. Independence CC then answered with a solo homer.

The Red Devils notched three runs in the sixth inning. The big inning was thanks to a single by Mikayla Long and a home run by Lizzy Hipp.

Rogers earned the win for the Red Devils. The righty lasted six innings, allowing eight hits and seven runs while striking out three. Madelynn Collins threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. Collins recorded the last six outs to earn the save for Allen.

The Red Devils collected 13 hits. Long, Brown, Hipp, Morgan Baska, and Rogers each racked up multiple hits for the Red Devils. Long led Allen with three hits in four at bats.

Allen Softball is now 7-13 in conference play and 12-22 on the season. The Red Devils are back in action at home as they host Highland CC on Thursday, April 21st at 2:00 & 4:00p.
