RED DEVILS SWEEP FT. SCOTT FOR SOPHOMORE DAY

GAME ONE

Madelynn Collins threw a gem on Saturday, May 1st in game one for the Red Devils, allowing zero runs and beating Fort Scott CC by a score of 1-0

The pitching was strong on both sides. Collins struck out seven, while Chelsi Boydston sat down five.

The Red Devils fired up the offense in the first inning and scored one run on a stolen base.

A single by Baylee Whisenhunt in the second inning was a positive for Fort Scott CC.

Collins was credited with the victory for the Red Devils. Collins surrendered zero runs on two hits over seven innings, striking out seven.

Boydston took the loss for Fort Scott CC. Boydston surrendered one run on five hits over six innings, striking out five and walking zero.

Makayla Howard, Alayna Brown, Mikayla Long, Arisbei Black, and Bella Gravatt each collected one hit to lead the Red Devils. Allen didn't commit a single error in the field. Hailee Lundine had the most chances in the field with seven.

Whisenhunt went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Fort Scott CC in hits. Fort Scott CC didn't commit a single error in the field. Haven Kelly had five chances in the field, the most on the team.

 

GAME TWO

The Red Devils scored early and often in game two to come out on top with a score of 6-1.

In the first inning, the Red Devils offense got started when they scored one run on a stolen base by Alayna Brown. Allen continued their run by scoring one in the second, two in the third and one run a piece for the fourth and fifth innings.

Cynae Wiley pitched the Red Devils to victory. The righty allowed three hits and zero runs over six innings, striking out four and walking one. Kaylee Cornell threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Cornell recorded the last three outs to earn the save for the Red Devils.

Jenni Jennings took the loss for Fort Scott CC. The pitcher lasted four innings, allowing ten hits and six runs while striking out three and walking zero.

The Red Devils racked up 11 hits on the day. Alayna Brown and Lindsay Shippy all managed multiple hits for the Red Devils. Shippy and Brown all had two hits to lead the Red Devils.

Cozee Clark went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Fort Scott CC in hits.
